AQUANAUT H₂O Explorer
The team behind AQUANAUT

BUILT BY
DIVERS.
FOR DIVERS.

AQUANAUT H₂O Explorer is a Swiss diving equipment company founded in 2026 by two technical divers who couldn't find the equipment they deserved. So they built it themselves — from a blank sheet of paper.

The origin

The equipment we
deserved didn't exist.

As technical divers who travel frequently, we found ourselves in the same situation repeatedly: the best-performing systems were too heavy and bulky for travel; the travel-oriented products were too compromised in the water. The market had decided you had to choose.

We disagreed. We incorporated AQUANAUT H₂O Explorer as a Swiss company in Lugano — a deliberate choice for precision, reliability, and the highest European standards. Then we started with a blank sheet of paper and Fusion 360.

The first question was simple: what does the perfect travel BCD look like if you start from physics, not from existing products? Every decision that followed came from that question. The air volume. The backplate geometry. The harness routing. The D-ring positions. The answer became VOYAGER.

ENGINEERING
BEFORE
EVERYTHING ELSE.
How we design

Mathematical.
From the start.

Every AQUANAUT product starts from engineering, not from marketing. We define the performance target first, then design backwards from it. For VOYAGER, the target was precise: the lightest possible BCD that delivers genuine DIR-standard performance and can be checked on any airline.

We built the entire air volume parametrically in Fusion 360 before a single piece of material was cut. Every cubic centimetre of buoyancy was calculated. The centre of buoyancy was positioned precisely to deliver horizontal trim without diver effort.

01
Mathematical design
Air volume, buoyancy centre, panel geometry — all calculated parametrically. No guesswork. Numbers that predict behaviour in the water.
02
Premium materials only
We select components at the top of their category. Every material choice is documented and justified. Budget is not a reason to compromise on safety equipment.
03
Water-validated
Every prototype is tested in pool and open water. We do not ship until real-world testing confirms what the numbers predict. Prototype #2 is currently in active testing.
PRECISION.
NOT MARKETING.
ALWAYS.
What we stand for

Four principles.
Non-negotiable.

01
Precision over marketing
We make claims we can prove. The buoyancy centre position of VOYAGER is documented in our Fusion 360 model. The weight of every configuration is measured, not approximated.
02
One brand. Always.
Every product carries the AQUANAUT name and meets the AQUANAUT standard. No co-branding. No visible supply chain. One standard throughout the entire range.
03
The team is everything
In DIR diving philosophy, your team is your primary safety system. We build every product to support team diving — standardised configurations, predictable behaviour, immediate readability.
04
Simplicity as discipline
We remove every component that does not directly improve safety or performance. The result is equipment that is lighter, more reliable, and more intuitive than anything built by addition.
FOR THE DIVER
WHO HAS DECIDED
TO DIVE BETTER.
Lugano, Switzerland

AQUANAUT.
Swiss. By choice.

We incorporated in Lugano, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. Switzerland offers a stable legal and regulatory framework, access to European markets, and a culture of precision that aligns with our values.

We design and develop everything in-house. Every specification, every geometry, every material selection is ours. This direct control over the design process is what allows us to build to our standard.

We are looking for partners who share our standard — retail partners, dive centres and distributors who believe equipment quality is not optional.
