AQUANAUT H₂O Explorer is a Swiss diving equipment company founded in 2026 by two technical divers who couldn't find the equipment they deserved. So they built it themselves — from a blank sheet of paper.
As technical divers who travel frequently, we found ourselves in the same situation repeatedly: the best-performing systems were too heavy and bulky for travel; the travel-oriented products were too compromised in the water. The market had decided you had to choose.
We disagreed. We incorporated AQUANAUT H₂O Explorer as a Swiss company in Lugano — a deliberate choice for precision, reliability, and the highest European standards. Then we started with a blank sheet of paper and Fusion 360.
The first question was simple: what does the perfect travel BCD look like if you start from physics, not from existing products? Every decision that followed came from that question. The air volume. The backplate geometry. The harness routing. The D-ring positions. The answer became VOYAGER.
Every AQUANAUT product starts from engineering, not from marketing. We define the performance target first, then design backwards from it. For VOYAGER, the target was precise: the lightest possible BCD that delivers genuine DIR-standard performance and can be checked on any airline.
We built the entire air volume parametrically in Fusion 360 before a single piece of material was cut. Every cubic centimetre of buoyancy was calculated. The centre of buoyancy was positioned precisely to deliver horizontal trim without diver effort.
We incorporated in Lugano, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. Switzerland offers a stable legal and regulatory framework, access to European markets, and a culture of precision that aligns with our values.
We design and develop everything in-house. Every specification, every geometry, every material selection is ours. This direct control over the design process is what allows us to build to our standard.
We are looking for partners who share our standard — retail partners, dive centres and distributors who believe equipment quality is not optional.
